My Healing Journey
As a young child, I always knew I wanted to help others, but didn’t know how I would go about that path. Becoming an Energy Healer was not something I had planned on, I don’t believe anyone just decides I think I will be a healer…
We Are More Than the Mind
For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by how things work and come to be.
I had a deep yearning to understand life and people, and what made us behave in certain ways. Studying psychology was one idea, but I quickly realized that was not my path or true calling.
For me, it was missing an important piece of the puzzle since I knew innately we are more than our minds. The body and our energy/spirit need to be addressed as well for the physical body to fully heal.
Having experienced a traumatic childhood I developed mistaken beliefs about myself and the world that needed to be identified, cleared and reformatted in order for me to heal. I knew in my heart to be of service to the world, I had to do the inner work to first heal myself. Having this realization attracted my first energy healer into my life. This is when and where my healing journey began…
Knowing Is Not Enough
Before I started my studies in Energy Medicine, I understood that “knowing” something wasn’t enough to heal it. I had knowledge of many things in my life, but that didn’t change how I felt about them or how they impacted me on a daily basis. I continued to allow these false ideas to affect me deeply. There was more going on below the surface than logic could explain or correct.
Energy Medicine Opened Possibilities
My healing process included many modalities over the years, but it wasn’t until I tried energy healing that my process quickly accelerated. The awareness and connections that came through these energy sessions were amazing and opened me up to a whole new world of possibilities.
I saw energy work as the way back to my authentic self. I’m talking about the “real me”, not the person everyone else wanted me to be. My desire to study energy healing began from my yearning to find inner peace, self-love and acceptance. I had no idea when I began this journey that it would take me all the places I have been and where I find myself today.
My own awakening and healing continues to unfold as I strive to know the truth of who I am. I believe the desire to know the self is a constant journey that is continually unfolding. I see this process and life itself as a journey and not a destination. Enjoy the journey!
Krista is a 2004 graduate and the former Executive Director of The Institute of Healing Arts and Sciences (IHAS). She spent four years studying and working with Dorothy Martin-Neville, PhD, the founder of IHAS and creator of the W.I.S.E Method. While acting as executive director at IHAS she was instrumental in getting the curriculum approved by the State of Connecticut, Department of Higher Education. Krista also played a key role in bringing Energy Medicine into five hospitals in CT: Hartford Hospital, Saint Francis Hospital, Saint Raphael’s Hospital, John Dempsey Hospital (UCONN), and Stamford Hospital.
During her training, Krista completed two medical internships, one at The Hospital of Saint Raphael’s Outpatient Oncology Department and the other at UCONN’s Women’s Health Clinic. Through these experiences Krista realized hands-on healing would be her vehicle to assist others on their journey back to wholeness.
In January 2005, Krista opened her private practice in North Haven, CT. She also worked side-by-side studying with Dr. Jacquline Kos who was her mentor for 3 more years to deepen her skills in the field of hands on healing.
After graduating from IHAS, Krista studied Feng Shui at The Feng Shui Alliance School (FSA) in New Jersey. This was prompted by her experience of seeing her own home as a reflection of herself and healing process. Krista received her certification as a Feng Shui Practitioner in January 2006 and she also pursued a year of advanced training at FSA.
In addition to one-on-one consultations, Krista offers workshops to share her knowledge on Energy Medicine, Feng Shui and Space Clearing. As a Doterra Wellness Advocate, she works with and teaches classes on Essential Oils (EOs) to clear and shift people’s energy. She believes deeply in the healing abilities of plants for past traumas and emotional energies. Currently, Krista lives in Southern CT with her husband, daughter and son.
I realized that learning all the techniques and modalities in the world would not make me an effective healer, I had to work on healing myself first, as I believe you cannot take someone where you have not gone yourself.
